No two weddings are the same. I don’t see why their cakes should be.

I’m Kerrie, the designer behind Crumbdidilyumptious, based in Glenrothes, Fife. My work takes inspiration from architecture, fashion, botanical forms, colour and sometimes things that have absolutely nothing to do with cake.

Some designs are bold and sculptural. Others explore texture, intricate hand-painted details or handmade sugar flowers. What connects them is the thought behind each one.

This gallery brings together wedding cakes I’ve created for couples across Scotland, from earlier commissions to the more unconventional designs that define my work today.

Have a look around. You might discover something you hadn’t considered for your own wedding.

Sculptural & Contemporary Wedding Cakes

Who decided wedding cakes had to look a certain way? Because I certainly didn’t get that memo.

This is where I explore shape, movement, colour and structure. Unusual silhouettes, unexpected colour combinations, architectural forms, wafer paper, hand-painted finishes and handmade sugar flowers all have their place here.

Inspiration rarely begins with a picture of another cake. It might come from a piece of architecture, the movement of fabric, an interesting texture or a colour combination I can’t get out of my head.

I don’t work from a catalogue, and I don’t recreate other designers’ cakes. I’d much rather take what makes your wedding yours and turn it into something neither of us has seen before.

After all, who wants a cake that looks like everyone else’s?

Rustic, Botanical & Textured Wedding Cake

Rustic, Botanical & Textured Wedding Cakes

Nature has never been particularly interested in straight lines, perfect symmetry or following the rules. And that’s precisely what makes it so interesting.

From woodland textures and twisting branches to delicate petals and layers of foliage, the natural world offers an endless supply of inspiration.

I love exploring how different surfaces catch the light, how colour changes across a petal and how something deliberately imperfect can bring an entire design to life.

Some of the cakes in this collection reflect an earlier chapter of Crumbdidilyumptious, while others show how botanical influences continue to find their way into my more contemporary work.

Because inspiration from nature doesn’t have to mean a traditional rustic wedding cake. Sometimes it’s the starting point for something completely unexpected.

Alternative Wedding Tiers & Artisan Details.

Who says a wedding cake has to be a cake? Or even look like one?

Over the years, I’ve created everything from doughnut towers to cinnamon roll displays, because sometimes the most interesting ideas begin by questioning what we’re used to seeing.

And then there are the details.

Handcrafted sugar flowers, individually shaped petals, delicate textures and the little finishing touches that can take hours to create but are easily missed in a photograph of the finished cake.

I have a particular fascination with sugar flowers. Recreating the intricate details of a real flower in sugar is one thing. Inventing something that doesn’t exist in nature is quite another, and I enjoy both.

This collection is a closer look at the techniques, experiments and unexpected ideas that make their way into my work.

Because sometimes the smallest detail takes the most thought.

Seen Something That Got You Thinking?

Good. That’s exactly what I hoped would happen.

Perhaps it’s a colour combination, an unusual shape or a tiny detail that’s caught your attention. Or perhaps you’ve realised your wedding cake doesn’t have to look anything like the ones you’ve seen before.

You don’t need to arrive with a fully formed design. That’s my job.

Bring me your ideas, your inspiration and even the things you’re not quite sure how to explain. We’ll figure out what belongs together and what doesn’t.

I create bespoke wedding cakes in Fife for couples celebrating across Scotland, and I’m always interested in hearing ideas that take us somewhere unexpected.
