Welcome to our Wedding Cake FAQs Fife & beyond. From intimate Micro Weddings in Glenrothes to grand celebrations across Fife, Edinburgh, and Perthshire, I am here to ensure your wedding cake is as stress-free as it is beautiful. Below, you’ll find answers to the most common questions about my bespoke sculptural designs, flavour collections, and professional delivery service.
Our Wedding cake booking process Fife & beyond
How do I secure my wedding date in your diary?
To officially reserve your date, we require a non-refundable booking fee of £50. This ensures your space in our studio calendar and allows us to begin the creative design process for your commission. The remaining balance is due three weeks before your celebration
Do you offer consultations for smaller weddings?
Absolutely! I love creating for both grand celebrations and intimate Micro Weddings. For commissions over £250, a dedicated design consultation is included. For bespoke cakes under £250, we offer a consultation service for a small fee of £30 to cover the professional time taken to plan your unique design. For all consultations without a booking fee paid there is a £30 charge which is then deducted from your final balance if you proceed.
How far in advance should I book?
As I specialise in bespoke sculptural cakes, sugar flowers and hand-painted details, I only take a limited number of commissions per week. I recommend booking 12 months in advance, though we occasionally have short-notice availability for smaller cakes. I open our diary 2 years in advance.
Delivery & Artistry
Do you deliver and set up the cake at the venue?
Yes. To ensure your cake arrives in pristine condition and is displayed perfectly, I provide a professional delivery and setup service for every cake I create, regardless of size. Delivery is available to venues across Fife, Edinburgh, Perthshire, and beyond for a calculated fee based on distance.
Can we choose different flavours for each tier?
Yes! I actively encourage it, You can select a different flavour from our Artisan, Botanical, or Cocktail collections for every tier of your cake at no extra cost. We want every slice to be as memorable as the design.
Can you create a bespoke Scottish-themed wedding cake?
Of course. I specialise in Scottish-themed designs, from hand-painted highland landscapes to subtle botanical touches. Every cake is a bespoke work of art tailored to your venue and style.
Dietary & Details
Do you cater to dietary requirements (Vegan/GF)?
I certainly do. Many of my signature family recipes can be adapted for vegan (v)* or made without gluten (*) requirements. While i take every precaution to avoid cross-contamination, please note that our artisanal cakes are created in a studio that also handles wheat and gluten. I am always happy to discuss your specific needs during the enquiry process.
Do you provide cake stands?
I have a curated selection of professional cake stands available for hire that perfectly complement our sculptural designs.
Do you provide a cake cutting guide?
Yes. To ensure your venue gets the maximum number of portions from your bespoke design, I provide a professional Cutting Guide with every cake. This ensures every guest enjoys a perfect slice of your chosen Artisan or Cocktail flavours.
Can I see a sketch of my design before it’s made?
Absolutely. For all bespoke commissions, a hand-digital sketch is included as part of your design journey once a booking fee is paid. This ensures that every sculptural detail, from rice paper sails to hand-painted florals, is exactly as you envisioned before i begin the bake.
The Artistry of Sugar Flowers.
Are your sugar flowers made in-house at the Crumbdidilyumptious studio?
Yes. Every petal and leaf is individually cut, wired, and sculpted by hand in my Fife studio. This labour-intensive process ensures that no two flowers are identical. It provides a level of exclusivity and detail that mass-produced or fresh flowers cannot match.
Can you match sugar flowers to my specific wedding bouquet or colour palette?
Absolutely. Because we focus on vibrant and intentional colour, I use professional colour-matching techniques to ensure your sugar flowers harmonise with your floral design. Depending on the specific bloom,I use a variety of techniques to achieve a realistic, fine-art finish. Whether you require a specific shade of Peony, Ranunculus, or English Garden Rose, the final design is tailored to your unique palette.
How do I care for my sugar flowers after the wedding?
Sugar flowers are durable if kept in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight. High humidity should be avoided as it can soften the sugar. Many of our couples choose to display their sugar artistry in a glass dome or shadow box to protect the delicate petals from moisture and dust.
